I have an elevated screened porch that faces directly onto a river, and it gets a lot of exposure to wind and temperature swings off the water. My opening didn't match any standard size, so I needed something custom — a magnetic thermal door seemed like the right way to keep the space usable through the colder months without giving up easy access. But for that to actually work, the door has to seal well and fit the opening precisely.
I ordered the first version of this door as directed in there measuring instructions my exact opening measurements, which is what LYGFZF's own instructions told me to order.
The TPU was crystal clear, which I loved, but the magnets were on the weaker side and the seam along the closure never quite sealed the way it should have — because it was too small. it would gap in spots instead of pulling itself shut.
LYGFZF graciously agreed to remake the door. This time I ordered a door that was 2” bigger than my opening. This version is a real improvement. The magnets are noticeably stronger, and the magnetic seam actually closes flush and stays closed now — that was the main thing I was hoping they'd fix, and they did. The one tradeoff is that the TPU on the remake is slightly cloudy instead of crystal clear like the original. It's a cosmetic difference, not a functional one, but I'll admit I miss the clarity of the first TPU door.
Overall, I'm happy with where this door has landed. The stronger magnets and properly sealing seam fixed the real problems from the first version. Just order the area you want view through and add 1-2” for the binding where you attach to your frame.
